Feeding the poor and needy is an act that draws us closer to Allah. We earn His forgiveness, mercies and blessings through this act of charity.

With the hope of building bridges with the local community, a mosque in Victoria will open its doors this weekend to welcome their neighbors to encourage mutual relationships.

The event, organized by the Virgin Mary Mosque in Hoppers Crossing, is part of the Victorian Mosque open day initiative, Star Weekly reported.

Visitors will be able to enjoy a tour around the mosque, showcasing some of the initiatives it has been running and how it has been contributing to the development of the community.

All the mosques taking part have developed COVID Safety Plans for this event. There will be food, children’s activities and cultural performances.

The Victoria’s Mosque Open Day project, launched in 2017, has grown into an annual event that many look forward to with great anticipation.  

The Islamic Council of Victoria (ICV) helps to organize the event across the state each year.

Since its inception, thousands have flocked to a local mosque not only to get to know their Muslim neighbors but also to learn about the Islamic faith and diverse Muslim cultures.
