1 71

Feeding the poor and needy is an act that draws us closer to Allah. We earn His forgiveness, mercies and blessings through this act of charity.

“Anyone who looks after and works for a widow and a poor person is like a warrior fighting for Allah?s cause, or like a person who fasts during the day and prays all night. (Bukhari)

Nasihah (Advice): Mention the virtues of the deceased
Sayyiduna Ibn Umar Radhiyallahu Anhu reports that Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam said,
“Make mention of the virtues of your dead, and refrain from (mentioning) their wrongs.”
Question and Answer:
Q. Is it permissible to recite Quran by the deceased when he/she is being given Ghusal in the Ghusal Khaana?
(Question published as received)
A. It will be disliked (Makrooh) to recite Quran, make Zikr or Dua bedsides the body of the deceased if the body of the deceased is in a room or cubicle like the Ghusal Khaana, which is specifically meant for the cleaning of impurities of the deceased body.
One may recite Quran, make Zikr or Dua outside the Ghusal Khaana or after the Ghusal of the body. (Shaami 2/193/194-Fataawa Darul Uloom Zakariyya 1/660/661-2/782/783)
