Jakarta – Komnas HAM encourages the Joint Decree (SKB) of 3 ministers No. 3 of 2008 to be revoked because it is considered to be the root of the problem of violence that is often faced by Ahmadiyya people in Indonesia. But the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) disagrees with the opinion of Komnas HAM.

“The decree exists to protect both parties, namely the Ahmadiyya and The Muslims,” mui’s head of assessment and research, Prof. Utang Ranuwijaya, told reporters on Monday (09/06/2021).

Debt says skb does not need to be revoked. According to him, on the contrary, the government needs to tighten supervision of the implementation of the SKB.

“So that Ahmadiyyat is not disturbed by its comfort and Muslims are not disturbed by its creed,” he said.

He considered there is another way out that may be done by the government, namely by recognizing Ahmadiyyat is its own religion outside islam as mentioned in the MUI fatwa.

“But there are consequences, they must not profess Islam and must not imitate the teachings of Islam, including not using Islamic symbols such as the use of mosques as places of worship and the use of the Qur’an as a holy book in addition to the book of Tadzkirah,” he said.
