I recommend to you, as well as to myself the fear of Allah (the Mighty and the Highest) who is a protection during the trials and a relief from worries and misfortunes. And know that Allah protects you, that the test is a divine law that is part of the necessities of the wisdom of Allah and of His righteousness; It is evidently represented by poverty and wealth, good health and sickness, fear and security, decline and increase; More precisely, all that we love and detest does not come out of the circle of the test, Allah (exalted be He) said:

{We have proved them by goods and evils, perhaps they would return (to the right way)}.

And He said (may He be glorified):

{We will prove you by evil and good [temptation]. And it is to Us that you will be brought back.

Ibn Abbas (may Almighty Allah be pleased with him and his father) said:

- "We show you by difficulty and rest [the easy], good health and sickness, wealth and poverty, licit and illicit, obedience and deceit. obedience, guiding and the separation ".

Allah's servants!

The intelligent and wise man must have the conviction that all things have already been decided, and that Allah has pre-ordained the small and important things, He knew what happened What will happen, and if it had happened how it would have happened:

{No beast walking on earth, no bird flying from its wings, which is not like you a community. We have not omitted to write in the Book.

The messenger (may the peace and blessing of Allah be upon him) said:

(The first thing that Allah creates is the pen [Al-Qualame], He says to her: {Write} She says:

"O my Lord, what shall I write?" He says:

{Write the destiny of all things until the day of judgment}) Reported by Abu Dawood. Therefore, what has been pre-destined, servants of Allah, must happen inevitably, and the creatures cannot achieve what does not have to happen; And if a difficult situation and unpleasant affairs are predicted for man, he must then dress with two clothes: the first: patience, and the other: satisfaction, so that he Receives full reward [for this test]. How many difficulties were difficult and the whole world was unable to make them disappear, then they were relieved easily in less than a moment.

Al-Hassane is told:

- "O Abu Said! Where does this behavior come from?". He says:

- 'Because of the inadequacy of satisfaction for Allah [when the evils come]." And he was told,

- "And from which comes the inadequacy of the satisfaction for Allah?" He says:

- 'Because of the insufficiency of the knowledge of Allah".

When Sa'd ibn Jabrī was brought before Al-Hadjadj to kill him, a man wept, Sa'id said to him,

-"Why are you crying?". He says:

- "Because of what happens to you". Said says:

- "So, do not cry, it was in the knowledge of Allah that this happens, then he read:

{No misfortune reaches the earth nor your people, which is not recorded in a Book before We have created it.

What happens to man, if it is a thing that rejoices him, is then an obvious benefit; And if it is a thing that does not rejoice him, it is a blessing also, either this thing clears his sins and he will be rewarded for having waited, or this thing contains a wisdom and a mercy which Allah alone knows:

{Now you may have an aversion to a thing when it is good to you. And you may love one thing when it is bad for you. It is Allah who knows, when you do not know.

And the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) prayed and said:

(The affair of the believer is astonishing, whatever happens to him is good for him, if something happens to him that he rejoices and thanks, it is a good for him; 'It happens to him an evil and that it is patient, it is a good for him. And this is only for the believer) reported by Muslim.

O Men!

All men agree unanimously that good health is a crown on the head of those who enjoy a good health that only the sick see, and that good health is a good thing. Benefit of which many people are deprived.

Diseases, servants of Allah, are widespread evils as fire spreads in the dry wood, no period and no country are spared, and no man is Protected, or almost, except the one to whom Allah is merciful; Because these diseases are predictable syndromes, and it is impossible for life to be deprived of them.

Eight things must happen to a young man *** And he must absolutely undergo these eight things.

Joy, worry, union, separation *** facilitated, difficulty, then disease and good health.

Although the illnesses are bitter and heavy, worsen and become difficult, the Creator (who is exalted) has put wisdom there and many benefits, some know them, Others do not know them. And Ibn Al-Quayyim (may Allah have mercy on him) said in his book "Shifa Al-Alile" that he has named more than a hundred benefits of diseases. And he also said:

- 'The fact that the heart and the soul take advantage of pains and diseases can only be felt by a person whose heart is alive, because the health of hearts and minds, My heart rests on the pains of the bodies and their difficulties ".

Evidence through illness can be a gift from Allah and a mercy so that He expiates sins and increases the grace. And the fever asked permission to speak to the prophet (may the peace and blessing of Allah be upon him), then he said:

(Who is it?). She says:

- "Oum Mildame - it's a nickname of the fever -". He then ordered it to be sent to the inhabitants of Quubah, who suffered for it what Allah knows; They then complained to the prophet (may the peace and blessing of Allah be upon him). He then said:

If you want it, I ask Allah that He save you, and if you will, it will be for you a purification. They said:

- "O Messenger of Allah, cleanse?". He says: (Yes). They said:

- "Then, leave it," reported Ahmed and Al-Haakim.

The prophet (may the peace and blessing of Allah be upon him) said:

(No Muslim suffers any evil like illness or any other without Allah blotting out his sins as the tree loses its leaves) reported by Al-Bukhari and Muslim.

And a man said to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah be pleased with him and bless him):

- "What diseases do we suffer, what do we have with them?"

He says:

(The atonement of your sins). Oubaï ibn Kà ¢ ab says:

- "Even if they are not numerous". He says:

(Even a thorn and then, what is more serious than it) reported by Ahmed.

And the Messenger of Allaah (peace be upon him) prayed to him and saluted him and visited a sick man who was suffering from the fever. He said, (may the peace and blessing of Allah be upon him).

(Be glad, for Allah (glorified and exalted) said:

{She is my fire that I cast on my believing servant in this world so that it is his share of the fire of the other world) reported by Ahmed and Ibn Maajah.

So, as servants of Allah, we know the positive results that the disease produces, and we know that its taste is like aloe, but its ends are sweeter than honey pure. So why do we fuck for the sickness that affects us, or do we insult or say 'if only'? And is 'if only' is useful?

And know that the Messenger of Allaah (peace be upon him) prayed to him and went to Oum As-Saa'ib and said,

(What, Oum As-Saa'ib, do you tremble?). She says:

- "The fever - may Allah bless her." He says:

(Do not insult the fever, for it causes the sins of the sons of Adam to depart like the wind-blower [the fire] sends the wicker) reported by Muslim.

A man among the pious predecessors was suffering from foot disease, and he did not suffer and did not complain, but he smiled and said: "Inna lillah wa inna ilaīhihi raji'ā'une" [We bring to Allah and we will return to Him]. It is said,

- "You are affected by this disease and you do not suffer?". He then said:

- 'The sweetness of his reward made me forget the bitterness of his pain".

Allah's servants!

Do not think that sickness is a thing that should be desired, for the believer should not hope to have evidences, and he should not ask Allah to give him sickness; The Messenger of Allah (may the peace and blessing of Allah be upon him) said:

(Ask Allah for forgiveness and health, for none of you got after belief, a better thing than health) reported by An-Nassa'i and Ibn Maajah.

And he said,

(That I am in good health, then I thank, is more loved for me than to be experienced, then wait).

We thus understand that illness is not the goal in itself, but what it engenders as patience, hoping to receive the reward of Allah, and praising the One who gives the benefits in all situations.

Sheikh Al-Islam ibn Taīmiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) said:

- 'As regards the misfortunes which occur without the servant choosing as the disease, the death of a person whom one loves, and the fact that the thief takes his money, the servant is then rewarded for his patience in the face of these misfortunes, and not for the misfortune with which he is touched, but misery erases the sins, and the reward is obtained for the actions accomplished by having the choice.

Thus, the servants of Allah, the messenger and the Muslim, the stake and the perverted, gather together in regard to the proof of the disease, and they get separated with regard to the Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said:

- 'You see the messenger among those who have a very good body health and whose heart is the sickest, and you meet the believer being among those who have the heart the I swear by Allah that if your hearts were sick and your bodies healthy, you would be more insignificant to Allah than the scarab ".

And Salmane Al-Faarissi (may Allah be pleased with him) went into the house of a sick man to whom he visited, and said to him,

'Be glad, for Allah causes the believer's sickness to be an expiation from his sins, and the sickness of the perverted is like the camel that was tied by his owners, they released him, so he does not know why he was attached or why he was liberated ".

Allah's servants!

When Islam exhorts patience during tests, and exposes the good effects and wisdom of diseases, it is not necessary that a person who is mistaken thinks that he is in the habit Sorrows, and honoring sufferings and diseases; But Islam rather praises people who suffer from the hardships and illnesses to master their emotions and good conviction:

{Why would Allah inflict on you a punishment if you are grateful and believing? Allah is Grateful and Knowing.

Ourwa ibn Az-Zoubaïr complained of the gangrene; They then cut her from her knee while being silent without shouting; And the same night one of his sons fell from a roof and died.

Ourwa then said:

'O my Lord, praise You, O my Lord, praise You, they were seven, you took one of them and You left six, and I had four extremities You have taken one and You have left the other three, and if You have taken, it is You who gave, and if You have proved, You have also given the health “.

Therefore, may Allah grant mercy to Ourwa and forgive him! Some illnesses were easier for him than others, and his trial was easier than the proof of another person; So, his illness and his trial were easy for him. And this is how the believer must be, he sees with the eye of his insight and he then thanks Allah for two things:

The first: the fact that what could be more serious has been pushed back.

The second: the fact that what could disappear like good health and good, remained [did not disappear]; He looks at the benefit that is present before looking at the blessing that is gone.

Allah's servants!

When the disease is present and then worsens, patience is the only protection by Allah's grace against anxiety, and it is the guard that protects against despair for the torments; The believer should not be afraid because of a cloud that appears on the horizon, even if it is followed by another and a third. However, man is unaware of the realities and is puzzled by the difficulties when they arise; And according to his nature he becomes nervous and hates patience; It becomes bitter for him, then he stammers and gets hurt, then he tries to get out of his situation quickly and forgets the word of his Creator:

{The man was promptly created in his nature. I will show you My Signs [making My Threats]. Do not hesitate me then.

And listen, may Allah protect you, what our prophet (may Allah pray over him and greet him) told about Job's sickness (peace be upon him); He said (may the peace and blessing of Allah be upon him):

(Job the Prophet of Allah was proved for eighteen years, the people near and far from him abandoned him, except two men among his brothers who were very as they approached him, they visited him in the morning and evening, and one of them said to the other:

- "You know, I swear by Allah that Job has committed a sin that no one in the world has committed." He tells him:

-"And why?". He says:

- "For eighteen years, Allah did not do mercy to him by healing him."

When the man visited him in the evening, he did not wait and mentioned the word of the other. Job then says:

- "I know nothing about what you say, except that Allah knows that I was passing by two men who were quarreling and evoking Allah [during the quarrel], and then I went home and I was expiating my sins committed because of them, for I wanted Allah to be evoked only for the truth. 'He says [the prophet (may the peace and blessing of Allah be upon him)]:

(And he went out to do his needs, and when he finished, his wife held his hand, and one day he lingered, and Allah revealed to Job the same place where he was:

{Strike [the ground] of your foot: here is a fresh water to wash and here is something to drink}.

She found him slow and made him know; Then he presented herself to her, Allah having removed her illness and being in very good health; When she saw him; she said,

- "O Allah bless you, have you seen the Prophet of Allah who is afflicted with a trial, and I swear by Allah that I have never seen a person who Looks more like you when he was in good health". "He says";

"It's me, it's me!" And he had two tanks: a tank for the wheat and another for the barley. Allah sent two clouds; When one of the clouds was over the wheat tank, he poured gold there until it was full; And the second cloud poured money into the barley reservoir until it was full) reported by Ibn Hibbane and Al-Haakim, and Ad-Dhahabi said it was a Hadith authentic.

So look, servants of Allah! And look, to you who are sick, Job and his patience.

His patience confirmed the word of wisdom, and he who spoke this word actually said the truth: "Patience [true] is the patience of Job."

He suffered from his illness for eighteen years so that the result of his patience is facilitated.

And sorrows are often a purification which Allah sends by His wisdom to the true believers in order to remove from them that by which their spirit [their heart] is captivated among the pleasures of this world; Thus, they are not deceived for very long by the pleasures of this world, or they do not attach themselves to it for very long; And it may be that an evil proves useful; Moreover, how many difficult tests are a gift and mercy!

O My Lord! We ask you for forgiveness and good permanent health in religion, life on earth and the other world.


Second sermon

Allah's servants!

Fear Allah and know that there are things which the sick must know:

Among these things is the good news for every sick man whose sadness hinders him from performing the Sunnahs and the supernormal works that he used to perform, He was in good health, that these good works are written to him and that their rewards are not lost; The prophet (may the peace and blessing of Allah be upon him) said:

(When the servant is sick or on a journey, the good deeds he performed in good health and at home are written to him) reported by Al-Bukhari.

Just as we need to draw attention to what certain people with certain diseases, especially psychological illnesses, are doing, taking care with the string instruments and the songs that Allah and His Messenger have forbidden, Healing of the community has never been in what Allah has forbidden him.

And it is known that remedies are of three kinds:

- A prescribed remedy, such as "Ar-Rouquiyah" [reading the Qur'an on the sick], honey, Zamzam, and others.

- A permitted remedy: this is what the legislator did not prohibit and did not order either.

- And remedies forbidden; And it is not allowed to use them for healing.

(And there is a remedy for each disease, some know it and others do not know it).

And the sick must know that it is forbidden to neglect prayers during the sickness; they must be fulfilled on time if they have the capacity; And if they cannot, they gather between the midday prayer [Ad-Dhouhr] and the afternoon prayer [Al-Asr], and between the night's prayer Sun [Al-Marghreb] and evening prayer [Al-Icha], this is a permission from the Wise Legislator.

Just as they must purify themselves for prayer in the manner prescribed by Islamic law; And if they can not, they fulfill the "Tayammum" [the ablution of the pulp - with earth -]; And if they can not, they fulfill prayer in the situation in which they find themselves, and they do not allow prayer to exceed its prescribed time, for Allah has said:

{So, fear Allah, as much as you can}.

And He said (be glorified):

{Allah does not impose on any soul a load greater than its capacity}.

And let the sick know that the wailing [the complaints] and the pains have two different cases:

The first: a groping to complain, then the patient detested [the disease].

The second: a sickening to rest and relieve himself, then he does not hate [the disease]; This is the word of Ibn Al-Quayyim and other reviewers.
